Ruben Thorkildsen is a Norwegian film producer and founder of Ape&Bjørn. He produced the Karlovy Vary Crystal Globe winner “The Almost Man”, and the Prix Jeunesse 2014 winner “The Games”. He is educated at the National Film School of Norway and built his experience by line-producing the box office hits “Twigson” and “Twigson Ties the Knot”. Ruben has produced titles like The Almost Man (2012), winner of best film in Karlovy Vary 2012, Rafiki (2018), that premiered in Cannes, Wajib (2017), that premiered in Locarno, The Sunlit Night (2019), that premiered in Sundance, and the recent Norwegian box office hit Psychobitch (2019). He also produced TV-series titles like The Games (2013), Game On (2015) and Match (2018).

Ruben was a participant at the European Producers workshop EAVE in 2015 and trained as Story Editor at Torino Film Lab 2017. He serves as a board-member at the Norwegian Producer´s association and the South-Norway film center.

IIsak Eymundsson graduated from The Norwegian National Film School in 2012, and have been working in Ape&Bjørn since. He has produced among others the Prix Jeunesse winning kids series The Games, Joern Utkilens debut feature Lake Over Fire, and the award winning short films The Committee and Women&Wine. Isak has had the position as Executive Producer on the teen box-office hit “Psychobitch” by Martin Lund and the Sundance film “The Sunlit Night” by David Wnendt.

Currently he is in production with Jannicke Systad Jacobsen´s new feature “The Domestique” with a release in fall 2019, and the TV dramady series Women & Wine that will premiere at NRK in 2020.
Isak also holds the position as the company´s CFO.


Brede Hovland

Brede Hovland is a Norwegian film producer with a producing degree from Columbia College Chicago and during a five year period in Los Angeles worked for Spyglass Entertainment, Touchstone/ Walt Disney Pictures and Motion Blur.  He has produced and been involved in projects like Seizure (2019),  Acquitted (2015/16), Turn Me On, Goddammitt (2011), the winner of Best Screenplay at Tribeca in 2011, Buzz Aldrin (2011), North (2009), winner of Best New Narrative Filmmaker at Tribeca and the FIPRESCI award at Berlinale in 2009, The Man who loved Yngve (2008), Cold Feet (2006), Agent Cody Banks (2003), plus numerous TV-series, documentaries and short films. Hovland was selected to represent Norway at “Producers on the Move” in Cannes 2012 and received the Best Picture award for Turn Me On, Goddammit at the Amanda Awards, Norway’s National film prize.

Fredrik Støbakk holds a bachelor´s degree in copywriting from Westerdals School of Communications and a bachelor´s degree in film production from The National Film School of Norway. His most recent production is two seasons of the TV-series «Match» and he is currently in production of a new series for NRK and two short films. He used to be part of the team at Storm Films, producing films like “Captain Sabertooth and the treasure of Lama Rama”, “The Christmas King: In Full Armor” and several notable shorts and documentaries. Before heading into film and TV-drama, Fredrik worked as a script writer for various TV-shows.


Verona Meier
Producer

Verona Meier is a film producer who works both for Ape&Bjørn in Norway as well as in Germany. She graduated in film production at the University of Television and Film in Munich, studied at NYU`s Tisch School in New York and explored the film industry in Hong Kong before working for Berlin based Razor Film. She has been involved in more than 15 feature films, most of them international co-productions. Prominent among the projects she has been part of are the banned Kenyan film “Rafiki“ by Wanuri Kahiu (Cannes 2018), the first film from Saudi-Arabia “Wadjda” by Haifaa Al-Mansour (Venice 2012), “The Future” by US artist Miranda July (Berlinale, Sundance 2011) and Golden Globe winner “Waltz with Bashir” by Ari Folman (Cannes 2008, Oscar Nominee 2009).

Verona also completed the international producers workshop EAVE and was a Torino Film Lab participant.


Martin Lund

Martin Lund is a Norwegian writer/director and founder of Ape&Bjørn. Martin graduated from The National Film Schoolof Norway in 2008. His debut short film Home Game was selected for Sundance and Clermont Ferrand, played festivals all over the world and won several prices. His debut feature Twigson Ties the Knot is among the biggest box office hits in Norway ever, and it played the Generation program at the Berlinale 2010. His second feature, The Almost Man, which he also wrote the script for, world premiered at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2012 and took home the Crystal Globe for Best film and Best male actor. He also created the TV-series The Games that won Best Series at Prix Jeunesse 2014 and was nominated for a Kidscreen award in 2015. The show has been remade with more than 40 episodes in Canada and sold to more than 40 countries. In 2016 he wrote and directed the comedy series MATCH for national broadcaster NRK, and the show is sold to numerous countries. In 2018 Martin wrote and directed Psychobitch, a coming of age feature that premiered nationally in January 2019.
